stopped by the bank today to buy a few rolls of halves to hopefully finish my first book of halves. I usually try to buy $100 worth, just to sort through for the dates. and keeping the silver when I get lucky enough to find some! Well, today I found a full roll of 2004 P and a full roll of 2004 D !! all in great shape, looks like they were just minted. I think I read some where that after a certain date halves were not intended for circulation, is that right? Just wondered if it would be wise to hang on to these or try to sell them? any suggestions???

thanks

Axehead, some people will say keep'em and some will say dump'em. I say keep'em. Half dollars minted in 2002 to present were NIFC or not issued for circulation. Obviously you can see that some of them indeed made it into circulation. Due to low mintage numbers, I suspect these halves, in good condition will bring a premium in the future. If it does not hurt ya to hang on to $20 worth of halfs, I'd put them in a shoe box. HH, Gpurs....

If they were still in the blue coin wrapper, then they definitely would be worth a premium (although it would be tough to find the dealer that would pay a premium for them)
