A first for me. I LOVE MY NEW COIL!

So got off work and went to a coworkers house to get an exercise bike. Figured I would try out my coil on an area that myself and another Tnetter have hit, myself multiple times.

A minute in I pull out two clad quarters, three pennies, and two dimes from an area about a square foot. Old coil was confused I guess, but the new 5×8 on the pro wasn't.

I immediately started after by pulling out three more wheaties...got 9 in all. So I get a decent signal and when I popped the plug out it split and cracked, then I could see some silver...i put the flash on to show what I saw.



Excited I was.

So since this was an hour hunt I started going back to my truck....I was satisfied. I hit another dime signal that was choppy. Now I pop out the plug and I saw a dark dime fall back into the hole. Well the funny thing is I popped the dime out and the impression on the dirt is what I saw fall back in LMAO! So, didn't figure that out until I found this outside of the hole after scooping the dirt out.




So I was super happy by now, I put the plug back in and rescanned, another dime signal but cleaner....pop plug out again and I got a merc from the same hole. My hand is where the dime was in the previous photo.



So, I got a miniature silver spill I guess! IT WAS HARD MAKING MYSELF LEAVE AFTER THAT.

That really is a great coil for the AT. I seldom switch back to the standard coil, but in yards etc., the 5X8 is a really good way to go. Bought one for a friend of mine, and he LOVES it.

Looks like a good spot to pound. I got shocked by my Brother and sister buying me an AT MAX trust me my kids take every dime I make one in college cars phone insurance ect I'm hoping come spring I can snatch up a 5x8 Ive heard a lot of good things about them and hunting in trashy areas that's a great coil Keep ripping the goodies out!!!!!!

The stock coil for the
AT is a 8x5x11 the 8x5 is a different aftermarket coil. I

t is smaller and its for trashy areas easier separation of targets and better depth on smaller targets​

Ah, I guess it was just the gold...still what an awesome gift! Is the changeover to that machine easy? I was looking at purchasing one down the road.

Doesn't the max come with a 5×8?

The stock coil for the AT is a 8X11, the 5X8 coil I bought is also a Garrett coil, great coil to have, I understand that it can also used on the Max. There may be other brand after market coils that might be used on the AT's, I never really looked.
