These are actually from yesterday, I posted the cast iron ball I thought may have been somekind of artillery shot, but still not sure.

These are the other items from yesterday's hunt. A few buttons, somekind of decorative peice that may have held a picture at one time? Couple buckles, and maybe a dropped civil war bullet? It doesn't seem to have 3 rings but I have found several 3 ringers within feet of where I found this bullet, 2 other different styles also.

And a crusty brittish copper. George's head seems to be slightly out of center, but hard to tell.

I have been useing a xp deus 1 for the past year, and considder it to be an excellent detector, once you learn how to make it purr like you want it to.

I just picked up a deus 2 on sale for black Friday, didnt really need it but I like learning and playing with new things. This detector is AMAZING, it is a little more difficult to set up and quiet down a little, it hears everything! It will take a while to learn all the nuances of it, just like I'm still learning the deus 1. It seems you can set up good custom programs on the origional, and use them on different sites without adjusting too much if any in most cases, the deus 2 seems to be very site specific and needs to be tweaked at individual sites to get the best results. But this is only my initial impressions for the handful of sites I have used it in.

Interesting finds. I think the coin is a King George II. The bullet looks like there is a gas check in its base. Those are used to prevent the burning powder from melting the bullet base when it is fired. They are used by modern ammunition reloaders but I do not know whether they were used a long time ago.

You had a good hunt with some nice finds. I’m no expert but I am pretty sure your bullet is a civil war Gardner bullet. Look up pictures of the Gardner bullet and I think you will see what I mean.

Stay safe, good luck and keep swingin.
