Hit a few sidewalks in town as well as an old home I have detected before. Along with some clad I found 3 wheat cents (1928-1929D-1939), an old key, a CROWNSILVERPLATE spoon circa early 1900s, what looks to be a very small shell casing possibly from a derringer or old toy gun?, and what I think may be an old Victorian broach of sorts? Any help on those 2 items please chime in. Thanks for looking. 001.JPG002.JPG003.JPG

Old cap for cap gun or primer?

Nice bunch of finds!

Casing looks similar to what's used in a Ramset gun (uses a powder blank to fire nails)

Nice to see you got out and swung the coil 2Ms. I agree that the casing is for a nail gun.

Thanks Crappies-n-Coins and Loco for your input. Are there different size shells for Ramset guns or are they all the same size? The shell I have here is smaller than a 22 cal.

All I've seen are .22 cal. but believe there is at least one slightly larger cal.

Looking at the bottom of the casing, is there a mark on the rim where it was struck?

Hard to tell if there is a mark on the rim as it pretty corroded. I am thinking it is fairly old and am wondering if it may pre-date a Ramset gun?

WIKI says that type of gun started it's use in WWII, so that's 70+ years

That probably takes care of that. A Ramset gun shell it probably must be! Thanks for the info.
