I found a neat old cabin to hunt, in the back woods of western North Carolina. (on vacation!)

So far nothing too valuable, lots of junk and trash. The son of the man that owns the abandoned cabin said that I probably won't find any coins as they grew up poor here... if anyone ever dropped a coin, nobody went to bed until it was found ;D

He does not recall the 'E' pin though... any ideas?

Guy In Back,

nice photos of the cabin.

Could the, "E" , have something to do with a
set of suspenders?

Is it a letter "E" or could it be a robe or shawl design?

have a good un...........................

The E pin has small bendable metal tabs on the back. It kind of reminds me of the boyscout type pins or clips... but that is not what it is.

It clipped onto something, and I can't make out any other names or insignias on it. It's reasonably solid... rang up on the GTI under the $1 coin size object 7 inches down.

Man like the finds. Also like the Garrett you're using. I have the 2500 pro, and have made a lot good finds with it.

Hi. I'm curious, is the cabin located very close to the Reems Creek area? I looked at the photos and then read the post. I was shocked when it mentioned WNC because I swear I've hunted that exact same spot.
Best of luck in the future.

If you hunted it before, that explains all the missing loot...

This area is just outside Robbinsville.

Looks like a good vacation to me MIB.
The NC mountains are beautiful. :icon_sunny:
Not sure what that "E" piece is. :icon_scratch:

This line cracked me up:

The sad thing is, with this economy we are headed that way again. :o :'(

Great post.

Looks like long creek rd on the way to Tathum gap rd in good ole robbinsville! Many a happy day exploring out that way!!

Those are some real great finds :icon_thumright: and you all hunt in some ofthe greatest places I've ever seen. I'd like to purchase & refurbish ahouse like that one in your photo and live there. Kind a reminds me of myGrandma house back in S.C.

Wow, that place looks great. Super jealous of your vacation spot! Greetings from a big east of Graham Co.
