I almost didn't go out yesterday. Boy am I glad I did! The day started out with showers, but the weatherman said it was going to clear and be sunny. How many times have we heard that? I arrived at an old park and started swinging the coil a little before 1 p.m.
This park has given me 2 Bucket Listers already this year. An 1832 Capped Bust Half Dime and just recently,, an 1858 Flying Eagle Cent. I was thinking, with those kinds of dates, where are all the Seated Coins? Well, let me tell you,, by 1;17 p.m.,,, I was texting pictures of an 1876 Seated Half Dollar. Unbelievable how one coin can get the heart to palpitate like that. Unbelievable. The question was, "How did this coin hide for so long??"
Before this hunt was over,, I recovered a Mercury Dime and a 1960 Roosevelt Dime. With those two in the pouch, I knew I would be searching until either a Barber Dime appeared or the Sun went down. Well, I couldn't find a Barber Dime for the Tri-fecta, but the sun did go down.
Now, when I got home, I started to clean my finds so I could take some pictures. I cleaned a silver ring I had found with a baking soda paste and I noticed some engraving on the inside of the ring. Sure enough,, I saw a clear K, and what I believe is a faded 4.
I think I got me some old 14k white gold.
This was truly "A DAY I WON'T SOON FORGET"

Breathtaking!!!!

That is so cool. The seated lady half has alluded me thus far.

The Flying Eagle you found there is also a kick *ss coin.

You have a great site going there!

Palpitate? How about explode? Possibly implode? That Liberty Seated half is awesome. Congrats! :notworthy:
