On my wish list! CONGRATS on a great find! HOGGE

If you're going to find a copper it may as well be a fugio. Congrats. On my wish list too. How deep was the coin. Any other finds with it? We need some details. :D

Thanks for your kind words ;D. To answer you Evolution....after digging Aluminum drink can section after aluminum drink can section (fields are heavily contaminated by farmer :tard:) The SE rang out that sweet LC sound and I dug about 5 -6 inches.....I looked at the copper disc in my hand and a little shiver went down my spine as my eyes fell upon the words "WE ARE ONE" and instantly I knew I had an old US coin in my hand. I am not kidding (my buddy can back me up on this if he is watching) at exactly the same moment he found a George copper. I looked over at him and he shouted GEORGE and I shouted back FUGIO. He shouted back no George....then I walked over and showed him and said I think I have a Fugio ;D Real shame about ground conditions...on a better site this coin would be a minter.

Amazing find! Even though I am a few miles from the original mint, I have yet to see one posted from outside of New England.

Hopefully you will be able to tell us that you are in NY, NJ or PA, and not in New England!

Congratulations!

Neil

Nice to find one, congratulations, but now I must say it, OUCH, oh that hurts to see a copper like that so eaten.......... :'(

For Neil, my friend Wayne has two Fugios recorded being found by him in Burlington County, it is listed in the C4 newsletter article he wrote a couple years back. You met Wayne at the club meeting....

VERY sweet early copper find!! You just don't see those posted every day. Congratulations!

Nice! Regular issue Fugios were minted in Connecticut, and circulation appears to have been limited. One of my favorite coins, and one I have yet to find. Congratulations!

Really? These seem to show up in Canada with greater frequency than in the US. I have seen several...at least four...posting on the Canadian site with the past year.

This may be a crusty Fugio but I have seen them in far worse condition. This really is a nice find. Congrats!
