At least strange to me. I know what they are but have question.
The history, I was up at my parents and wanted to do a little hunting with my mom, she used to love doing anything outside and did metal detecting with a whites blue box detector back in the day. I let her swing my Excalibur II while I dug, she loved it but was a little heavy for her 76 year old arm and even with shortening the shaft to its shortest length, she had to grab it below the handle to swing it. She had a blast none the less.
We found a strange shut off valve buried in the back yard, going to a faucet used for her garden, she didn't know about, lol. But back 20+ years ago we cleared the land and built the house, so before them it was wooded land. So the land is very clean.
We did find two, what I call, keepers. A bullet and a Gasparilla coin from Tampa Florida, only thing I could figure was one of my nephews must of dropped the coin years ago when they were kids, they're in their 30's now. Looks like it was hit by the lawnmower, and it was about 4-5" deep.
The question I have is about the bullet, it is flat on the end that should be pointy? Why? In my 50 years I have seen plenty of bullets and have seen them after impact but never saw one that looks like it was almost made that way on purpose. It must have been from impact, but what are the odds?
I was wondering if anyone else had an idea why it would look like this
The coin
