Another metal detecting outing to Phoenix on Tuesday and had some nice finds again. An Oklahoma tax token in pretty rough shape circa 1930's, an old cigarette token for 2 packs of cigarettes that has a piece cut off it also circa 1930's, 3 old wheat pennies, a 1 yuan coin from Taiwan, 1905s Barber dime, 1940d Mercury dime, a small pin that represents some organization, and a pile of clad coins. The old cigarette token really cleaned up nice and I wish it would not have been cut a long time ago. It would have been a nice keeper if it was complete. The Oklahoma token is unusual as it is marked for old age assistance. Seems an odd place for a Taiwan coin and an Oklahoma tax token in a Phoenix park. 2 of the Wheats were 1913s and 1929s. Happy hunting and good luck MDing. IMG_0009.JPGIMG_0011.JPGIMG_0010 (1).JPGIMG_0013 (1).JPGIMG_0012.JPGIMG_0005 (1).JPGIMG_0007 (1).JPGIMG_0003 (1).JPGIMG_0002.JPGIMG_0008 (1).JPGIMG_0001 (1).JPG

The Taiwan coin has reeded edges and I thought they only used them on precious metals. It cleaned up nice with lemon juice and a fine brass brush. The cigarette token was a mess before it was cleaned too.

Very nice hunt, cool finds! :occasion14:

I was all hung up on the Lost Dutchman and gold prospecting for the first several years out here then I gave that up for a lost cause, Tommy.

You sure seem to nail some of the most interesting finds when you travel west........I can see now why you go, aside from weather considerations. Nice.......!!

Thanks, Chizzy. I try to do my research on the places I hunt. I use the old aerial maps and county assessors info to find out as much as I can.

Nice finds! Congrats on the Merc and Barber!! :icon_thumleft:
