A Compliment To a Fisher

I recently saw a Fisher 1212-X for sale on Ebay in good condition with a initial bid price of $50.00. I used to own one of those simple one knob detectors and regretted selling it, so I figured I'd try to scoop it up as I am detectorless at the moment.

By the time the bidding had ended, it sold for $108 and I wasn't the winner.

Not bad for a simple old detector they're not even making anymore!

I too had one of those as my first detector. They were a lot of fun and proved thay you didn't have to spend a fortune to have a decent detector. No bells and whistles, but sometimes you don't want or need them. $108 is still a bargain. If you still want one, post a note in the treasure related items wanted section. I'm sure somebody has one they'd sell. Thumbs up to Fisher for the 1 knob wonder!

Fisher detectors are very good. I had a 1265X and now an F5. I've tried others but like mine better. ;D Happy hunting :icon_thumright:

I had my first 1266-X for 16 years without a single repair. Sold it for half of what I paid for it and bought a gently used slightly newer 1266. My Ole Gal is now digging up the goodies up north in the New England cellar holes. Her new owner refurbished her and she's still going strong.

I am a Fisher Believer.
