A Colonial Relic Hunter's Generosity to a Great Landowner
Today, The Three Datectateers got out to the site that yielded us 6 large cents last Sunday.
Well, since this site has already given us the kind of items that we search for in this great hobby, I decided to set a goal for myself...a goal to give back to the landowner a piece of history off of his land. As the day progressed, I noticed that I had 3 Injuns, and a 1941 wilver dime in my datecting pouch. Well, to make a long metal datecting story short, I gave the landowner the 3 Injuns and the wilver dime that I had recovered earlier on the trip today. Colonial KirkPA also gave his 1920 wilver dime and a few relics to him as well.
Even though I don't have a coppa or Spanish wilver to post, I just wanted to show that we, The Three Datectateers, do have a kind metal datecting heart. The landowner loved our generosity, and we thanked him greatly for allowing us to hunt on his historic piece of property.
All in all, I found 3 buttons, 2 horse rings, and a potential musketball mold. The one button could be a coppa, but after 2 hours of tumbling, there wasn't enough detail to give myself credit for it. It could be a coppa, but only the coppa could actually know if it is indeed a coppa.
As always, folks, keep that Colonial fever higher than a Colonial fever could ever get!
Kyle
Note: The Injuns were dated 1893, 1901, and 1902.
