Didn't know it at the time, but the LC I dug today turned out to be a classic head.
The date is 1810 (my oldest US coin from this site) and the 6th identified LC dug this year from this large tract of land. It was also quite remote from the other LCs I've dug here. This coin was no deeper than 4 inches and gave a 78 VDI on the Fisher F75. It was the second coin dug in a brief 2 hour hunt; the first coin was also one cent, a memorial.
Note the angled chin, short neck line, and extended bust line, the six stars to the right. The date is clear and appears to be a "10" over "09" variety of this coin.
