T'was the day before Christmas with Marie gone to God knows where.
Probably out shopping or doing her hair.

While the Bluenoser was at home with nay not a care
In front of his computer only dressed in underwear.

Feeling downhearted and almost quite dead
He went out digging and found a new head!

Well the day was much colder , colder then most
Don't forget to butter your toast

Quota Guru was swinging freely , slowly with no great haste
While the Bluenoser's face began to turn blue and looked like used paste.

He then heard the familiar beep at the base of his feet
Bent down lowly and dug up a cleat.

Now Prancer, Dancer, Vixen along with the rest of the crew
Were flying over head yonder a doing the dew.

With all this digging and 38 coins at six fifty three
The Bluenoser headed homeward to admire his Christmas tree.

That's a chilly hunt if your nose was turning blue.

FYI the linked pictures don't load. You might want to directly upload them here rather than linking to them.

Bluenoses are Nova Scotians, I understand. Blue usually means depleted of blood. In neighbouring New Brunswick, our noses turn red in the cold. Red can also denote an excess of antifreeze in the blood, of course. My nose is rather big, maybe not quite as big as a beak, but big. I don't want it to be red or blue. It's prominent enough as it is. So maybe I'll call myself a mariner, or a river rat (I live by a big river and am out on it a lot).
