Hi KirkTn, My vote would go for the cane handle since I've seen many similar ones. I was looking at a cane with a very similar handle a few weeks ago in Colonial Williamsburg. 2dgs.

I agree, about the Lady's hunting whip now, the pic above is shaped just like it.

I dont think the handle is right for a whip.
one that is like equile length on each end would whip better.
id say childs cain.

Yeah, cause those kids look older than they used too & need a cain to walk :D

Me & the better half own a horse & shes horse mad, so I'm pretty sure on this one, seen several this shape.

I also own two horses... but don't ride English... only Western. Actually I don't ride, I'm on the Harley too much. The English gear is not readily or generaly know in the states... this antique type riding crop would seem strange.

Or maybe it went to one of those "pointers" officers used to point at charts/maps ?

Swagger stick. And it think the handle is a ladies riding crop also.
