bone looks cracked like someone was trying to get the marrow, any cut marks on the bone? Seems too coincidental, think you're onto something!

I see cut marks on those bones!!! Keep looking, theres likely more there!

I see cut marks that look like the one's I saw at the Buffalo Bill museum in Cody, WY on buffalo bones found at the bottom of an old jump where the Indians chased the buffalo off a cliff. Also, I don't know if other animals have splint bones, but being at one time a horseshoer, the bone looks like the cannon bone from an older horse. Prehistoric horses had three toes. The remnants of those toes in the modern horse are called "splint bones," and they lay along the cannon bone, going nowhere, ending in a point down near the hoof. They float free in a young horse, but as the horse ages they end up fused to the large cannon bone. I think I can see a splint bone that's fused. I think you found the butchering kit for a fact. Great find.

Neogeo, Cool finds when the bone and tools fit the ocassion.
Man, this is Texas. Those were left there by the butcher to honor the spirits that allowed the food to be had. I've seen similiar things at The Onion on a dig years back. Also at Long's. Six feet down in the back of the hollow, I came across bone with cutmarks and the same manner of tools. I kept a few pieces of the bone too. Way cool!, thanks for showing. Lone Star
