Got to a little hunt after work today. Went straight to my spot on St-Laurence in Montreal. Didn't find any new pottery today but got something much better in my view: two complete clay pipe bowls one of which has some really neat design. Even thou the water is pretty cold decided to give it a try with my metal detector. One of the first signals, a BEAUTIFUL, complete British 62nd regiment of foot button from 1850's . A huge copper button in an amazing condition. Just love it! I have found a good amount of buttons in the past, much rarer ones but this one just stole my heart!

A great little hunt!

That is a BEAUTIFUL button! I have on from the same Regiment from the 1700's back from that little colonial uprising we experienced here back then...lol Here is a link to the Facebook page of a group who I was in contact with when I was looking for info on them. Very nice gentleman from there I communicated with..careful though! lol He may try to buy that beauty!

Here is a picture of mine, pewter and older but not anywhere close to as nice as yours! Is spent around 230+ years in the water.
