The day started with my alarm going off at 5:45 am to go hunting !!! I had picked out two locations , one was a school and the other a park I had never hunted before . The school field had given up silver coins years ago , today nothing but clad :BangHead: . After a good hour I decided to move on to the park . This park is in an area that dates to the 1940's so I was hoping for some old silver . After a good 30 minutes all I had was more clad , but then it happened :hello2: . Right in the middle of the soccer field I got a sweet sounding +28 at 3 inches . When I pulled back the plug there it was , my first ever in 18 plus years of hunting a platinum ring :headbang:!!!! I have been hoping to find one for a long time . My hunting buddy Kevin just found his third last week . This one weighs 11 grams and is 950 PT / 750 18k GOLD on the edge of the ring ! This one is a keeper  . Total clad for 2 hours was $8.63 .

Wow glen that is a beautiful ring, that's gotta be worth some good money!

Hell of a find!

That's beautiful, , I have never found a platinum anything.

Over the years I have seen all my hunting buddies pull out platinum , I thought I would never find one !!!

Glen,

Good score on the platinum ring.....22 years of detecting and I've yet to find platinum.

Wow ! nice chunky ring - kinda helps you feel like it's all worth it ( though I'd keep hunting if I just found wheat pennies !)

I would too !

Now that is an awesome find. i did find a ring that had plat. inscribed inside, but I never had it tested.Has anyone ever seen a ring with just plat. on it?

Wow that is awesome brother!!! Congratulations on your first platinum! :icon_thumleft: And with 18k gold to boot! When I found my platinum I immediately just slapped it on my finger thinking it was just another stainless and gold wedding band. Didn't even consider the weight of it. Then later I handed it to my wife and she told me what it was. Talk about excited!! Anyhow I am very happy you were able to get that monkey off your back!

Very nice ring I've also only found 1 plat ring.

Congrats on the beauty, and finally breaking the platinum ice.

That's a beauty!! Congrats on your first Plat with 18k trim.
**thrifty76now.....Yes, Plat rings may just have nothing other than Plat stamped on them. SS

Let me tell you something buddy, to find all these rings in the dirt makes you one hell of a hunter. My hats off to you my friend. Most people don't understand what it takes to find gold rings in the dirt. Your determination is :notworthy: Congrats, you deserve it! Mike

pl8man,

I am getting all tingly and "plati-numb" just looking at those photos of your great ring! Platinum is on Sub's bucket list too! Congratulations! Sub 8-)

WOW, I will take that ring to my jewler friend to have checked. Some how it does not shine like the gold ones.

It checks out with acid and it was under the dirt for a while . It's real .
