I have done some research and was able to find a few pages concerning said set. Values differ tremendously.
** NORITAKE (Long Ago)
-Discontinued pattern. 1977-1984.
-Never used.
-In original boxing.
**Looks complete (I have not went through box.)
-Has inspections stamp still on box from Japan.

I see so much of the China from this era in the thrift shops these days. Seems today's generation just doesn't appreciate these heirlooms anymore. Some folks must appreciate them still, because they don't seem to stay on the shelves very long. It's rather nice yours is still in the original box.

I called a couple places and was basically told the same thing. There are people who like to complete sets, ect.. but overall, china doesn't do well in today's economy.
I really don't have a use for it, so..with economy in mind, would it be better piece by piece or as the set, (To sell)?

I'd say as it is all together would be the quickest way to get money out of it. The value in piece probably be worth the same imo. I buy only china cup and saucer sets made by Shelly of England if they're priced right and have shipped those for a profit as far as Europe and a 4 piece set went to S. Korea once and I still have some that are probably worth less today than if I'd a sold them 8 years ago. Many antiques from Japan are not as desirable as they seemed to be back in the 1960s and 70s. unless it's an early 1970s 240Z in just good condition. Today's collectors are weird and would pay as much as you could buy a Porsche SC 3.0 for just one Pokémon card.

Sets of dishes are not the best reseller.
I've gone online and a set will be $250.00.
Month later an online auction it will be -$25.00.
Breaking up a set isn't a 1st viable option.
1, 2, 4, 8, 12 piece setting is what sells.
3 tea cups is a non selling feature.
Hide 1 sell as a pair.

This goes for place settings as well.
Got 3 or 5 complete. It's better to round down for a sale of 2 or 4 piece setting.

Suggestion: Go on a china replacement site.
Price out the individual pieces.
They sell complete sets also.
That will give you a starting point.
They also buy complete sets.
I have sets of dishes that sit in boxes in storage.
Plus the one we use for gatherings.

China replacement site? (microwavecookingforone)? These have the specific set I have.
I just went through it all and it's all 93 pcs. Looks brand new, honestly, so.
Would you have a recommendation for site to check out? Be appreciated

Yes there are sites that resell replacement pieces to sets.

This is the set. So I went through it and there is 92 pieces. The box says 93, but I cannot seem to find what would be missing?
There are 3 platters but the box only says 2 that i see. Between the sizes it seems there is 1 missing by the gap between sizes, which would be the missing piece?
On the label of box, the creamer has a 1 by it. Don't see a parenthesis. The sugar has a 1, then (2) in parenthesis. The other that has a 1 (2) is some type of gravy saucer and has 2. I don't see any reason why the set would have 2 sugar containers and only 1 ceamer tho'. So I'm lost here!
