I got back to my place today. Four hour walk. But, I was concentrating on high traffic areas. Means more trash to sort thru.

Not much but I'm not unhappy. A very interesting walk.

I got more indications of age and *that* is really what I've been going for here.

Another pretty 91 signal! Got to do my 91 in all directions dance. :)

S'ok with me though, kept it exciting.

This thing is as thin as a razor. No clue.:dontknow:

Fascinating button! To think....how this fragile button came out of the ground after 100 to 200 years and whole!

At least you can make out the pattern on the front! Was about 9 inches down too!

Then there's this thing! *VERY* interesting piece!
No markings but guess what?

Not only does it still work, but when opened, a rarity! There's still a face in there, looking back at me!!!

Anybody know what Martha Washington looked like? :tongue3:

Thanks for taking time to peek!

Maybe, and I mean a big maybe, you may find an inscription behind that picture. It might be worth a look.

Hi nice finds Congrats. Love the locket:icon_thumleft:

Nice locket. I dug one very similar to yours. Made of brass and unmarked. Had strips of paper with gibberish on them. Likely belonged to a kid. Still kept it though. Mine was plain with no decorative art work on it.

Thanks guys.

I took the suggestion...sorry, no. Nothing written on pic either. :dontknow:

The piece that has my attention is the big button. Anyone recognize the rope like design? :icon_scratch:

The coin? Would be nice to know but, alas, R.I.P. :dontknow:

Cleaned up a little

Looks like it had some gilt in the ropes.
Probably just a decorative.

Regardless...still a neat large, antique button! I like it.

Brazed loop dandy button. Turn of the 19th C or a little earlier.

Thanks DCMatt! I had it figured for that age range. Its just that ropes design seemed so familiar. I guess it was just me.
