Had a mixed bag Saturday morning consisting of a few out of the ordinary things. Most of these came from one giant neighborhood sale (30+sales).
An 8 3/4" bronze Ganesh statue. Any thoughts on age?
A cool brass beetle on leaf broach with no maker mark...any thoughts on age or maker or what to call this?
A horse's bit....I know nothing about bits. The sides are iron, the middle seems to be aluminium, and it has brass décor. No maker's mark. Is this old/new good/bad....?
A couple of cool pieces what I have now found out are Russian 875 silver niello kubachi (one is marked with a Soviet star and hammer and sickle--the other has no marks).
And a watch with band marked 925.
Any thoughts or insight?

Those are some great finds! I know nothing about the brass or bronze pieces but they are very cool. The Russian silver is really cool! Well done!

Great selection of odd stuff.

Update: just sold the bit for $54.00 on an ebay auction which paid for my entire day at garage sales.

I love when that happens! We’ve had several times where we make enough off of an item or two that paid for the day or the entire weekend. And still had goodies left over that we are keeping. A great lesson HistoryTeacher!

Very interesting pieces for a nice price! :occasion14:
