The wife and I covered over 80 miles yesterday hitting yard sales. They call it the US 60 yard sale, from Winchester to Ashland, Ky. It's copied after the 127 yard sale. Found a Radio Shack MD for $10.00 It seems to work all right, it nothing else, when every my Grandson comes up with "Papaw can I borrow your Metal Detector"...................................................

Nice find! Well...let me tell ya a story about that model of detector that you bought....it was quite humbleing. Me and a buddy of mine were hunting a large field that has seen numerous armies and occupation for the last 200 yrs. I was hunting with my trusty Tejon and he was using his Fisher 1266. We had found lots of sweet finds at this location in the past but this day...nothing worth mentioning. Well it was a hot summer day and we were whupped. While we were hunting...a guy had pulled up aways from us and pulled out a detector just like yours. Well my buddy had to leave, but before he left we were standing there talking and we both felt sorry for this guy out in the heat with that "toy". I kept hunting for a while longer after he left, then walked over to my truck...put up my Hi-Tech stuff...pulled a couple gatoraides out of the cooler and walked over to this guy. We talked for awhile and then he mentions he hasn't found much but a couple pennies and a funny nickle. I asked to see it.....purtiest Shield nickle I ever saw come from down here. Well I told him what it was and not to spend it and walked away a humbled man. Called my buddy and told him that we were the ones that should be felt sorry for....so tell that grandson of yours to cut his grandpaw some slack and not find all the good stuff!!! :tongue3:
