I wanted to follow up on the lynchpin (what I thought was a belt buckle). Saw some good tips suggesting to soak rusty items in white wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar to remove rust. Well... I decided to test, and I have to say, apple cider vinegar is the big winner! Check out how the lynchpin now looks after just 2 days of soaking:

I also soaked the 2 clad pennies I found recently and a really rusted up big threaded piece found on the beach:

Yeah, I'm pretty stoked. I didn't think it would work as well as it did. I have more stuff soaking as we speak.
