Just found gold ring #6 for me tonight and only my second marked 14k. Nice sized mens wedding band too. I was hunting behind a 1950s era school where I have found a decent amount of silver. It was in an area I suspect is fill dirt but it was deep and rang up like a zinc penny. Had it not been deep I probably would not have went for it. Now I need to go back and dig all the shallow zinc signals. Lol

That's a nice ring! You gotta dig the iffy targets for sure. I'm not sure if I'm doing much hunting during the summer this year. Haven't decided yet.

Thanks. Im just planning on hunting the last hour or two before dark on ocassion and digging everything Ive left behind at some old schools. Worked out well tonight

My digging partner and I want to avoid bees. He got nailed by yellow jackets last year and was sick for several days. There is a mountain lion that lives nearby now and if we go back in the woods I'd have to pack a cannon or something similar, so not sure we're going to do that either. It's "Wild Kingdom" around here anymore.

Ewwww....I HATE those things...and those yellow jackets will hunt you down...in my area it's been TICK city...omg, went into the woods mushroom hunting, wasn't in there ten minutes and had 5 or more on each pant leg headed north. Flicked'em off and hit the shower, I don't want anything on me that has more legs than my dog AND sucks my blood. Ddf.

That's a Nice Chunk of Gold!

Thatโ€™s a nice chuck of gold. Well done!

Hi, wow that is a great find, congrats:occasion14:

Congrats on they sweet gold ring. I would have guessed it may have been a deep IHP since it rang in the zinc range.

Nice hunk of gold! Congrats!

Nice hunk of gold there. Congratulations!

Thats some hefty gold weight ! CONGRATS !

congrats on the honkerville 14k! Gotta love those surprises. that's why we dig pretty much anything that is repeatable. Sometimes I get tired of digging pull tabs or erasers and I choose to ignore them for a while but I have all intentions of coming back the next time and dig them.

Toaster, yes Mountain lions in Maryland. One of my vet's assistants stumbled across one in a field about 4 years ago and it had two kittens with it. I have seen it myself and see tracks from time to time. There aren't many but it only takes one to ruin your whole day.
