I went digging today and boy am I glad I did. I hunted for awhile with no luck and then get a really good signal and dig a big plug being careful not to hit whatever is in the dirt. I put my pinpointer in the hole and pull out a .69 caliber gardner. I am in awe because I only know one person who has dug one. Then I put my pinpointer back in the hole and pull out another one! Then I scanned the hole with my detector and got multiple targets very close by. When I got done about five minutes later I had 16 of these huge bullets. This was a hunt I will never forget. I also found this button any ideas on what it could be?

That is awesome! I did a little "happy dance" just looking at the pictures!:laughing7: What does the back of the button look like?

That is fantastic. Those rascals are one heavy chunk of lead. I have never seen that many found at once. Great hunt and one for the books!

Nice score that's an impressive pile of bullets you have there.. Congrats..

Very nice. You gotta love it when a plan comes together. Days like that keep the dream alive, congrats.

Nice recovery!

I've heard about soldiers getting caught in the rain and having to dump cartridge boxes of wet rounds.

Last summer a buddy of mine dug 23 dropped .69's in a 10 meter area near Front Royal.

That's the kind of stuff guys were finding 40 years ago when the hobby was new. It is great to see people still digging those kind of finds.

Carved Bullet.

Congrat!! Is the one carved or just damaged?

It looks to me like it was carved on a bit but never finished. I do not know of any other way these gouges could have got there.

Very nice cache. Yes, obviously one was carved before all of them were discarded. The button is a modern blazer button.
