Clad the Impaler and I went to a park this morning that I had not been at since back in May when I hunted it with Dirt Fishing Wolf and Gimmee the Loot. Turned out to be a fun return trip. Paul started hitting goodies right away. Soon I started finding wheaties followed by a 1900 Indian and then a little bit later a 1913 Barber Dime.

About an hour later I got a loud 13/48 banger loud text book quarter signal at 7 inches. I was 90% sure it was going to be silver based on the flutie tone the machine was singing. I let Paul hear it who agreed. Laying face up at 7 inches was an 1897 Barber Quarter.

We then moved to another area of the park that started giving up wheaties. I spied a small patch of bare ground that was about 10 yards long and 5 yards wide. It appeared it had been dug up or scraped earlier this spring or summer. As soon as I started swinging in the dirt area I got a 1927 Merc at 5 inches. Within the next 30 minutes in that small little area I found a 1924D Merc, a 1914 Barber Dime, another 1927 Merc, a 1901 Indian and probably 7 wheaties.

Really makes you want to know when the next park rehab is. The whole area we were hunting in is still probably loaded with silver and Indians but the thick blanket of trash in the 2 to 4 inch range masks 80% of it out. Take the first few inches away and the goodies just really start popping out of the ground.

After gridding that small dirt area, we continued hunting in the same general area for the next hour finding a few more wheaties before heading home. Pictures of the Indians and Silver I found below.

pocket spill,

Good haul on the silver.....there's an inner city park in my area like that the trees are enormous....it would take a whole season
to skim off the modern coins and trash to get to the oldies.

What are you waiting for Bill!!! Get on it :)

Nice haul Pat - I sure miss hunting with you buddy - you are a master. I like how the barbers are sequential years. Last year you were the IH master, this year the 100+ year old quarter master.

awesome hunt pat!

nice finds!!!!
