Hit an old site today and the first oldie was a 1953 D wheat. Not long after that I dug a nice 1852 silver three cent piece! That is my third one and all of them are the same year! It is the smallest US silver coin made. The only smaller coin is the $1.00 gold coin. The next target I dug and only a few minutes later was an 1857 Flying Eagle cent! Now I am very happy as that is a first for me. Been trying to add that one to my list for years! WOOO HOOO!!!
Where I dug these two coins, my buddy asked me what did I miss? You see had had detected that very spot the night before. I almost didn'y have the heart to tell him! We took a break from the rain and when we came back it started to rain again after we were detecting for a bit. So on the way out I was trolling for a good beep when I got one. Out pops an 1891 Indian head. My buddy said he had dug around in that spot for 20 minutes. Pretty good 6 cents in my book! I guess I got a penny trifecta also!
Sure had fun!

Fantastic finds! All look to be in great condition. We got 2 inches of the vile white stuff today.

sweet digs. That 3 center is on my "bucket list."

nice three center Mike. Hope to get one someday.

eYou rock Mike! That '57 flying eagle is my most sought after coin. I think they made 'em for only two or three years and yours looks to be a real bute!!! And hitting the trifecta on the one centers...well...I doubt I'll ever hit that mark but who knows. Most awesome digs Mike! WTG. As far as your buddy hunting the day before, what type of MD does he have. Curious because I know that your using the Explorer and wondered if it is as great as I keep hearing about and can pick up targets that other MDs might miss??? Wish I could have joined y'all at the last meeting on Tues. but the new job has me running wicked and wild...but its a paycheck. Again nice finds, I'm really jealous.

Congrats on some Nice finds, that 3 cent piece is real nice find , that,s another coin on my long list, Congrats and GOOD HUNTING.

Awesome finds Mike. Love the Flying Eagle and the III Center....both on my wish list.

He is using the Explorer SE, but new to land hunting. He is a die hard water hunter and learning. Absolutely the Explorer is as awesome as they say! Where is the new job?
