5900 Di Pro SL

If it was the same as my 6000 DiPro SL, I think it went: Put in GB mode, flip switch to auto balance, raise and lower the coil repeatedly over clean ground, and I think it gave a beep when it reached balance, then you flipped the switch down to either lock or continuous GB, then put the detector mode into VLF or whichever you prefer.

Never mind, I just looked up a pick of the 5900 box and it's different. But it SHOULD have a diagram and instructions for GB on the control box.

hope this helps

check battery, turn to hot rocks reject, set tuner, just audible, single balance at preset, disc doesn't mater your in all metal with analogue meter, lift waist high, squeeze trigger lower to ground. if threshold rises turn counter clock wise, you have to raise the loop off the ground and squeeze the trigger and lower after you turned the G.e.b the way it is needed. get close with the course, this is were it goes quit at a bout two inches from the ground, now use your fine adjustment to get it right on the ground, make sure your not over any metal. walk as you go seems to help the most, I find all way check your ground balance if you think you found a target...the blue max deep scan 950 it should balance easier than my 15" you can crank the single balance up past preset more with a 950 loop...it's a deep detector watch out for high wires..have fun get out there and show them what they walk all over.

That sounds the same as the 4900 DL. I can check the instruction manual when I get home, if it helps ya.

The instructions for the 4900 DL- turn knobs to pre-set marks, turn detector on. Turn the MODE knob to GEB/NORM, with coil waist high, squeeze and release push button on handle. There should be a slight threshold tone, if not adjust TUNER control so you hear a slight hum, lower loop to the ground, if tone does not change unit is ground balanced.

If threshold tone changes, raise loop waist high, turn GEB control slightly counterclockwise if the tone increased or slightly clockwise if tone decreased. Squeeze & release push button on handle lower loop to ground. Repeat this step till there is no change in threshold hum when loop is lowered to the ground.
