It is a long story, but I ended up with a 525 Caterpillar Grapple Skidder out of a storage deal. It took a bit of work to get it fired up (batteries), but it will pull wood now.

I was talking to a geologist and told him I was looking for gold on a side of a mountain, then I corrected myself and said, "well a hill steep enough to make you nervous if your on a skidder." He laughed, and said, "only in Maine would a person judge a gradient by if his skidder would flip over or not".

Awesome machine...congrats! :occasion14:

Now that there looks like some fun!

Wowza. How much did that locker cost you.

It looks like it is going to be $11,564.87, but it could be $0.00 depending on how my court case goes in February. It was a differed deposition so I already "won", but have yet to see any money.

Yeah sure beats feeding a pack mule for those prospecting trips everyday. Of course a man would have to get an ounce of gold a day in order to feed the beast diesel fuel. It takes about 40 gallons of fuel a day to feed the old stead.

That's one for the records. I guess your in the logging business now.

I bet it's not paid for or stolen

I'd like one.:icon_thumright:
