It is a long story, but I ended up with a 525 Caterpillar Grapple Skidder out of a storage deal. It took a bit of work to get it fired up (batteries), but it will pull wood now.
I was talking to a geologist and told him I was looking for gold on a side of a mountain, then I corrected myself and said, "well a hill steep enough to make you nervous if your on a skidder." He laughed, and said, "only in Maine would a person judge a gradient by if his skidder would flip over or not".
