Picked this up at a garage sale for 50 cents
Looks like what my ashtray I posted was , so is It made from onyx or is it something enterilely different? Definitely hand carved

I would put money on that being a sock darning egg. I only have one in my collection. They were often times made of stone, I think alot of them come from Mexico. The one I found was in the ruins of an 1860's cabin, so they can be old.
