I was able to get in a few hours at a new spot with my buddy Micah. We hit an old school spot that has been pounded over the years. Things started out slow but Micah's first dig was a Merc so we knew there was something left. I dug a few wheaties and then got my coil over a Merc. Signals were few and far between but after about 5 hours of hard hunting we dug 7 Mercs, 2 Buffalos, and a bunch of wheats. I also found 12 Wheats on an old chain and one of them is a steel cent. Not a bad hunt on a spot that has been heavily hunted. HH David

That is a really nice haul. Five silvers is really nice! Congrats. GL&HH.

The old school spot you are referring to would be my go to place for a spell with that many keepers in one outing.

Congrats...cool chain of cents and thanks for shairing your finds.

It's amazing the steel penny survived. Great hunt for a heavily hunted area.

Congrats on the finds and the phrase hunted out...probably not just look a little deeper. HH

Hello David,

I would say you had a great old coin hunt! Just goes to show, no place is truly hunted out.
