Hello all
I work for supermarket on long island n.y. Every 2 weeks or so i come up with a silver dime or quarter from a till, couple weeks ago found an 1878 indian head. however last sunday i had a customer come up to the service desk to cash in a scratch off ticket $50 dollar winner. the young lady runs it thru the machine and hands the customer his five tens, promptly walks to the scratch off machine to reinvest, problem is the machine won't take the tens, walks back over and asks for newer tens. gets his change back to the machine and away he goes. The young lady calls me over and says i think these tens are counterfeit. The bookkeeper and I check them out and realize they are silver certificates and thats why the machine wouldn't take them. I bought 1 the bookkeeper bought1 and the cs person bought 3. of course we went to the safe to check out all the bills we received from the bank. no luck of course. a fun afternoon
