Hey all. Got out to the Iceberg yesterday with Mirage. I was hoping for just one silver, but I got five all in an area that I've never tried before. Also got my best wheat penny from the site, rarity-wise, a 1911-D. The largest marble came from the hole with the '60 dime. It was too bad that I didn't make it to the DFX convention. I was looking forward to going; hopefully there'll be another one next year.
Take it easy all, HH!

its amazing how many wheats you guys have found at that iceberg spot! they just keep turning up in huge numbers! the silver keeps turning up too! ;) great stuff!

the merc on the left looks like it has a very wide rim or just a lot of wear and tear... great finds.. as always.
k.k.

You found a great site, I would work the heck out of it.

Ohhhhh.........I was doin so good, and then ya had to go and hit the berg.

Very cool, good to see more silver from that spot(ok,ok, it was makin' me nervous too). Do you guys get many old wheats there??

Looks like the Iceberg is a pretty hot spot! ;) Keep digging!

Good Haul, Nate.
Yeah we missed you at the hunt. Targets were slow in coming.

Nice finds! Hope you have continued luck there. :)

Really nice finds Nate. :o How do you get those wheaties so clean--What do you use on them?
TIA

Thanks yall...Gold fish, most of the wheats are 40s and 50s...only 5 of yesterday's batch of 67 were in the teens. There's kinda no way to tell where your best chance of gettin silver there is (except for the wheatfield ::) )..it just turns up here and there.
Kas, sounds like it was still a nice get-together. Finding a hunting ground to accomodate such a gathering with good potential in the quality of the finds is tough.

Merf, the wheats clean up nice from the Iceberg basically no matter how you clean them...but I choose to use cotton swabs with ammonia. A dip in olive oil makes the color look better (to me) after the ammonia scrub.

WOW, Nate. Nice finds there.

It's good to see that location is still producing old coins. Who knows how much there could be there.

Congratulations!
