Hey everyone,

Been getting out here and there. Been really hot and rainy to this yr. Ton of growth in the woods. Makes hunting for me alot harder. I prefer the woods. But have been in a few groves here and there.

Went to a construction site where some houses once stood. Made some nice finds earlier in the yr here. There was vurtually no metal. I got there to late it was scapped down to far. But I did however find this nice little bird point I was told from the archaic period of around 3 to 4 thousand yrs old.

I did find some very strange beads near the point to. They aren't glass as far as I can tell. They look like a rock or gemstone they are very heavy. Any thoughts or ideas to age and matter of the beads.

I also been going back to this park I like to hunt where it never fails to give up a nice little handful of vintage coins. I pulled out my third or 4 SLQ from this park just this yr alone. Not alot of older finds this yr but I'll take what I can get.

I also found a really neat junior police badge from 1929 1930 Canton OH I love these kind of finds. Other than that just a few indians a 02 and a 83. Got a really nice 1938 D buff and a 34. Got a 34 merc and 45 washington. Got about 15 wheats a few older jeffs and a 1922 trolley token.

Thanks for looking and reading

HH Jer

Great stuff Jeremy. I have so much old stuff I have found during the last 6 months or so since I posted last that it's laying around everywhere. I really should get back to posting. Seeing your type of posts kinda motivates me. I especially like the Canton Ohio badge-maybe a good closeup of it cleaned is in order?
Have you been back to that old abandoned road next to the park we hunted together last year?
And BTW, I have some time off next week and have my son...you free anytime?
Call me!

Thanks alot everyone.

Toolman, I guess I make it sound easy. But what I mean is I'd like to be finding more pre 1880 stuff. Alot of turn of the century stuff up until the 50's has been found alot this season. I like large cents and pre 1850 stuff but it is hard to come by. Only got one LC this yr and a 2 cent piece. Other than that it's been alot of indians and old nickles. I'll hit a older spot soon.

Dan, Great to hear from you again man. You went a-wall for some time now. Let me guess the MLB has been holding up your summer. I hope your son had a great season man. I'm sure he did. Matter of fact I'm not looking busy at all next weekend. I got another really nice old park to hunt that gives up oldies every time I go.

If you wanna come down any time just let me know. I haven't been back to that site yet this yr. But last fall I swept through there about 20 more times and found a ton of stuff. It was all beneath the trash that was there. I bet you have a hoard of stuff building up. Time is hard to find.

Take care man,

Let me know what's up. Still alot of hunting left this yr to get into. Here is the pic of the badge. A cool little relic.

Thanks for the closeup of the badge...great relic!
Yeah-this summer was a freaking blur of baseball. 5 out of state tournaments and TONS of Diamond League games. I was worn out just from the driving and rooting-I can imagine how Spencer's arm felt.
He had a pretty good season. Each time he is raised to another level it takes some time to get used to having to pitch smarter. He was really bringing the heat until a few big guys took him deep and then he tried to morph into a junkballer and kinda gave up on trying to spot his fastballs. He ended the season strong with a complete game 116 pitch 2 hit win against one of the top teams in the country. And it was done in a minor league stadium under the lights too so he was really juiced. He was also scouted by the Cincinnatti Reds and a few colleges as well...so as long as he stays healthy he can go as far as he wants.

As to visiting again, my real free time is during the week next week. Next weekend (believe it or not) is the tryouts for next year's 15U team (even though I was told privately by his coach that he has a lock on a spot in the rotation...he still needs to be there both days to make it appear fair)

Dan

Thanks guys no problem.

The badge was nice it is small to. That's fine Dan, I undertsand I have to work all next week. But hey I predict some nice finds in the fall down here. Maybe we can arrange a get together. It's alot of fun.

I'm glad you guys were able to hold up this yr. It's alot traveling working and going to games. I know I sat at the field all summer long. Next yr I'll need to pitch a tent at the community center. Yes, Spencer will adjust and get stronger.

It is hard when you play with kids that are a yr or 2 older than you are. He'll be fine. I've had guys hit long balls on me also with giving them really nice fast balls. Those guys have a harder time with the off speed pitches.

Keep in touch,

HH Jer
