Hey everyone,

Been getting out here and there. Been really hot and rainy to this yr. Ton of growth in the woods. Makes hunting for me alot harder. I prefer the woods. But have been in a few groves here and there.

Went to a construction site where some houses once stood. Made some nice finds earlier in the yr here. There was vurtually no metal. I got there to late it was scapped down to far. But I did however find this nice little bird point I was told from the archaic period of around 3 to 4 thousand yrs old.

I did find some very strange beads near the point to. They aren't glass as far as I can tell. They look like a rock or gemstone they are very heavy. Any thoughts or ideas to age and matter of the beads.

I also been going back to this park I like to hunt where it never fails to give up a nice little handful of vintage coins. I pulled out my third or 4 SLQ from this park just this yr alone. Not alot of older finds this yr but I'll take what I can get.

I also found a really neat junior police badge from 1929 1930 Canton OH I love these kind of finds. Other than that just a few indians a 02 and a 83. Got a really nice 1938 D buff and a 34. Got a 34 merc and 45 washington. Got about 15 wheats a few older jeffs and a 1922 trolley token.

Thanks for looking and reading

That's a lot of great finds you have there. The point is very cool, in addition to the jr. police badge!!

4 SLQ's from that old park of yours this year? I'd love to give a park like that a try... ::) I like a good challenge!

CONGRATS!!

nice finds! The material on that point is Upper Mercer aka Coshocton flint. I would guess that this was found in Ohio or close to Ohio... take care, -Rob

Hi there, nice finds. I believe the beads are Hemitite, a very pretty gem - looks like metal/silver but if you slice it thinly enough, you'll see a red glow

Great finds! Glad to see someone around the area is getting out.

Re: 4,000 Yr Old Bird Point. 1925 SLQ, Indians, Wheats and More.

Yeah, I'd take those finds too. ;D I'm drooling on that SLQ. Last year I found a bunch but zilch so far this year. Other stuff is great too.

Ground is rock hard here. We haven't had rain in at least a couple weeks.

Nice finds, really like the arrowheads. My partner always has a fit, when we are out hunting a field and I come up
with a couple of points along with some IH's. He always says, I don't know how you do it and I say, instead
of looking at the sky while I'm detecting, I am looking at the ground. I'm always picking up buttons too.

Nice finds, Congrats!!

I love those standing liberty quarters, especially ones with dates. I found one last year and zero so far this year. Congrats on the great variety of finds. I was at a friend's house a couple years ago and he told me about how they used to find points and such in the farm field out back, I walked out and spotted something very black and waxy looking. Dug it out and was pleased to see a nice flint drill, no damage.

Re: 4,000 Yr Old Bird Point. 1925 SLQ, Indians, Wheats and More.

Thanks for all the comments everyone.

Dan, I'd love to bring you throgh some of my parks around here. I bet you'd pull out some nice keepers. These places have been hunted hard but there are deeper coins missed.

MB, The point was found in pittsburgh pa. Very close to OH. We had alot of indians around here.

Yes Hellcat, I agree they look to be like hematite beads. I have a man's ring with one in it and they look just like it. Was a nice little eye ball find.

This was my 5th SLQ of the yr. They are hard to find and I am making it look easy this yr lol. Your lucky you get one in a season. I got 3 no dates and 2 really nice 1925's. These are nice coins to find.

I could look for points and indian artifacts all day long. I get really excited every time I find one.

Once again thanks everyone for looking and commenting. Hope to have some more goodies here soon.
