I started this invitational two day hunt the year Hurricane Katrina hit. Its held on the properties I have permission on in south Louisiana - these plowed fields saw a ton of action during the Civil War. I invite 3-4 of my old hunting partners and we hit the fields from the crack of dawn until we cannot swing anymore. We had a great hunt this year - despite the occasional shower! This hunt was full of surprizes and they were all pretty much captured on video so stay tuned. You'll have to wait and see who received the coveted "Top Dog" award this time around. As for me, I dug a ton of targets and a few of um turned out to be goodies. Highlights include: Numerous Union Eagle coat and cuff General Service buttons, six nice trade beads, .69 cal minie ball, tons of flatties, rim fires, pistol balls/bullets, cape attachment, some nice bone artifacts, pin-fire shotgun shell, indian chipped stone, and last but not least, the beautiful 1838 New Orleans seated dime.

That's an awesome coin you found. It's a very desirable first year O mint coin. Don't clean it if you haven't and get it certified. It could be worth more than $1,000 if it's AU or better!

That is a nice high dollar dime, What about the buttons what are they

all buttons were either flat, flower, or Union General Service Eagle Coat and Cuff buttons from the Civil War. Fairly common but always a good find.
