3030 help

What kind of help? What size and purity is the ring?

1890s small wedding ring one diamond maybe 10 k also how to build a gold pattern on 3030 minelab thanks

"Small" is a relative term, but, if we're talking about a dainty, thin band, engagement type ring, you're going to have to concentrate on targets in the 12-02 to 12-13 range. Unfortunately, that's also the range where you're going to find all kinds of junk targets too. Run the CTX in a mode with higher weighted frequencies, usually prospecting type modes, or, at least a jewelry mode. With it being a recent drop, you can turn down the sensitivity quite a bit to help ignore deeper targets and also keep the detector nice and stable. Use your depth meter to help zero in on only the shallow targets.

needing help to set up 3030 to find lost gold ring lost three days ago in very trashy yard in ohio thanks ted
Another non-detector method to try. Take a led flashlight out at night and maybe catch a reflection off a shiny ring. It has been known to work on recently lost jewelry.

I’d put it on coin mode and dig only 12-12 and 12-13 for the first pass

Gold on 3030 has a big range, 12:01 to 12:38 depending on size shape of ring. Being its small 12:12 to 12:20 ish

good luck

I'm with 'cudamark' on this one, but I would add the following. If it is a fine band 10k, it may come in lower in the 12's like typical foil. Make sure the 'Deep' setting is off. MAKE SURE you don't ignore a hit just because it may say 3 or 4 inches deep! A fine ring sitting in the grass probably will read deeper, and you never know what other metals were blended with the gold to leave it at 10k. PUT AWAY the shovel if your only reason is searching for this recently lost ring! If you get any hits in the low 12's to 1238 use your pin-pointer!! If you don't get a signal from the pin-pointer, move on. (If you get a good sounding hit and the pin-pointer doesn't get it, you could always mark the spot with a flag or marker, then go back later. It's hard walking away, but the ring is the prize, right?) Best of luck......
