Hello everyone,
Spent 3 hours today at a new site, a local high school started in the 1950s. Yesterday, I found $7.66 at a middle school/park combo but didn't find any jewelry or even any wheats, it was more than mildly disappointing although I was happy to get out. I was much happier with the results today.
Ground was super hard and dry at this site and the digging took forever because the first 3 inches were like concrete but under that there was some moisture still in the ground. Luckily, there wasn't a signal deeper than 6 inches (because the site isn't that old I don't think theres anything deeper) so I didn't have to dig through the concrete too much.
First good signal was solid +83 on the G2 which 99/100 is a copper penny but luckily this showed up, a nice sterling earring.
I then only had 30 min of daylight left and I wanted to really check out the middle of the old track, which is where I found sterling earring #2 (choppy 81-83, it's smaller), 2 wheat pennies and a really nice St. Christopher sterling pendant that was a solid 90-91 on the G2 which I was expecting to be a silver quarter. Needless to say, when I go back I'm going to spend allot of time at that track!!
Caught a really nice sunset before coming home!
Here's the shots at home, $4.75 in clad (well one of the quarters is missing like half of it), several parts of locks, a key and other things that rang up high on the detector, I set it only for high tones to scout the place out!
Also, only found 30 pieces of trash which is the least amount I've found all year, which makes this place even better!
