Hi... My favorit curiosity find this year (to date really)... dug in my front yard Morgan City Louisiana 8inches down... rather light (recon I neen to weigh it)... looks to be gold plated/ gild... not sure of the composit base metal... I haven't brought it to any proffesionals yet...
My coin friend seems to thing it was top hamer struck due to the curved face and flat bottom...
So I bring it to my neighbor to show him a few minutes after I find it... first thing he does when I hand it to him is "oh, maybe it's a button" scratches thumb nail across back 🤦...my heart skiped a beat...🤷♂️ he's a good guy, what ya gana do...
once I educate myself on cleaning methods...(if I clean it at all) I'm hoping one of the sails has a symbol that will help with the identification...
any and all knowledge is welcome...
