I had a break in work today waiting for some glue to dry, so I decided to get out and try again. I was out searching in front of an old house. I stepped out of the car and got everything together and then I started searching. Within a few minutes and probably 10 feet from the car I got a good Quarter signal about 6" deep. I was expecting a clad quarter but to my pleasant suprise I found this 1905-O Barber Quarter. I walked a little further and I found the Injun. A 1899 and my very first Injun. I stayed there maybe an hour total as I had other things I needed to get back to so I would call it a pretty good way to spend an hour. I am starting to get a better grasp on my new E-Trac. I also found 70 cents in clad and two other wheaties. Again my first wheaties found. 1925 and a 1946 wheatie. Since I have a total of maybe 7 hours at this new hobby with my E-trac almost anything is a first or new find right now.

Just curious as to how you were expecting clad when the depth was six inches and you were hunting in front

of an "old" house ? Nice coins Argentium.

I had found maybe 10 to 15 quarters so far with the E-trac and most every one of them were 5 to 6" deep or just sitting on top of the ground. I had just programmed myself into digging clad when I saw the 12-46 on the E-trac.

Nice finds buddy. The E-trac is working well for you.

Thanks Bryce,
I am just trying to keep you from getting every silver coin in the Midwest. Even a blind squirrel will find a nut every once in awhile. I can only imagine how many deep silver coins I have walked over even in my short time at this new hobby. I am having a hard time hearing the differences in the tones. I do woodworking for a living and my hearing is going fast. All the loud machines running all day in the shop haven't helped with this.

Thanks Ace for the tip on the cleaning. Tried it last night on a few older pennies. It worked great on them.

Thanks for all the replies,
I looked forward when I found this forum to being able to post something nice. Can't wait to get out there and find the next keepers.
