The big one 1st March:
The little one is a Quarter Stater of the Geometric type: Morini Tribe : Gallo Belgic; 1.5grams. 10 mm diam. approx 65-50 BC.
The big one is a full Stater of Corieltavi South Ferriby type. disjointed Horse Left : 5.8grams. 21mm diam.approx 45-10 BC.

Coritani or Corieltauvi

The Coritani, or Corieltauvi, tribe lived in central England, namely in the modern counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire. Their capital, Leicester today, was given the Roman name of Ratae Coritanorum (or Ratae Corieltavorum). When Romans invaded Britain in 43AD, this tribe was relatively recent. It is thought that the Coritani were a federation made up of several peoples living in the East Midlands. They were mainly farmers, often raided by neighbouring tribes. It is considered that the Coritani did not resist Roman occupation due to their vulnerability and they quickly Romanised after the seizure of their capital in 44AD. The Romans did garrison the IX Legion (Hispana) in Ratae and an alliance was made with the Coritani by the Roman Governor Ostorius Scapula who then protected them from other Celtic tribes. It is only through their coinage that any tribal rulers are known. The Stater found is a Coritani type known as a South Ferriby type. Obverse is an abstract head of Apollo right, while the Reverse is a horse right in a disjointed form with four-armed spiral below neck. Behind the horse is usually an elongated pellet within elliptical ornament and pellets around. There is a star below the horse. The coin is not inscribed. Age is 70-10BC
