2nd day, another bullet Bad button, Musketball and other button and "whats its"

Got out today for a few hours at the site I found the Sharps bullet yesterday and had a good hunt. Decided to knock off tomorrow and enjoy the 66 degrees forcast and get some good work done.

Initially I hit the spot where I found the Sharps and found the button. It is in pretty bad shape and has been mashed pretty good. If you look you can make out the eagle and shield on it. Anyone have a guess to what it is. seems like a cuff link to me. (and I apologize as this "today's finds" thread is hijacked by me and turned into a "what is it" thread)

anyway I moved from that spot and about 100 yards away discovered this small decorative button. no markings on the back but has a star design and is reeded.

Found the musketball (I think) along the road going into the property

Moved on and got my ears blasted off. Dug a few inches and found the rotor of a car I believe. Need to "pump up" a bit and haul that thing out tomorrow.

About then a fellow came by and we chatted for a bit. He then told me I should probably check the area "over yonder" (where I found the first bullet) Daylight was fading so I hit that spot again. My first target dug was this smaller bullet with one ring. Anyone able to ID it?

also found these two rings close together and this 2 headed nail kind of thing (which I've seen before on the boards but cant remember what it is).
anyone know what they are?

Well hopefully I'll be able to pull some older coins out tomorrow. I found some clad cents 64,68 and a dime 69.

Nice finds!  Your bullet looks like a colt .44 cal pistol bullet.  I don't have my bullet book with me at the moment, though. The button is probably a CW-Era Eagle Cuff button. (There isn't anything in the photo for scale, sorry!) But those are my educated guesses.

Yep I agree with BB on the bullet ID looks like a Colt army revolver, .44 cal a MM480

Whoops grabbed the wrong coin. the one in the photo is the same size as a lincoln cent

Thanks for the ID. and since it appears I might dig a bullet every time I visit this site, I guess I should get to ID'ing them myself. Which book is it that you use?
