24K Ring.jpg24K.jpg

Found my first piece of 24K gold today in 15' of ocean. Visibility was poor and I thought it was a school ring until I got back to the boat and saw how worn it was. Its hard to see but there are eagles on each side, no other marks on the outside. The stone is toasted, not sure what it is. The second picture is of the only marks o the inside, "9999". 13.1 gr. Thanks for looking.

Now THAT is something you never see, 24k ring, I recently found a silver bracelet marked "1000", pure silver, something I have never seen nor heard of before, but your ring? I think the closest I will ever come to something like that, is your post along with the picture, very VERY nice. OK now, we need you to find another one Mike.

Rich!! Super find....!!

We have so many things on the list of things to find, first coin, first silver coin, artifact, gold coin etc. but I never even thought about a 24k piece of jewelry . I've only ever seen one piece a few years ago when I saw a friend find a small 24k gold strip that was a ring from china. It was meant to be wrapped around the finger.

As Bart suggested , the stone is likely a ruby , which is corundum - at 9 on the hardness scale ,I'm wondering how it gets beat up much at all ?

Very nice ring, my heart would skip a couple of beats for sure, seeing that in the hole. Thanks for sharing mike_b and welcome to the forum!

WOW that ring is a real treasure, I am sure the water and sand has eroded some of the soft gold and made the stone a bit milky but holy cow that thing is still sooo beautiful, super congrats!

Sweet Ring find, congratulations! :occasion14:

Very nice ring. That ought to keep you smiling for quite a while! [emoji16] HH

that has been in the ocean for a loooong tme, give you $125 for it

Might be worth more as antiquity, just saying.

Hey I just stumbled upon your video on YouTube I thought I recognized that ring from TNET. Nice find Mike. Keep up the good work.

Beauty of a ring, A very nice find...congrats!
A ruby being just under a diamond as hardness goes, a jeweler can diamond polish it...
