24 Hours of Rain Made A Big Dfference at the Old Baseball Field!

After alll these years of drought here in California I forgot how much better a metal detector will work when there is mosture in the ground! I returned the the old baseball field and scored big time!
I was able to punch down I beleive at least 3 more inches in the moist soil after a 24 hour rain downfall. I dug out a silver 10 centavo Philippines coin that was 8 or 9 inches deep! I know it was that deep due to the blade on my Leche digger which is a full 8 inches long! Another signal that was 6 inches deep turned out to be a Wakling Liberty half dollar! The mosture in the groung really makes a difference, I was knocking out 6 and 7 inch deep clad coins all day! The first two months of hunting this ball field I was working in bone dry dirt, the depth I was getting was not near as good as it it now. Hope we get some more rain !
