Just goes to show, never know where or what will come out of the ground. Simply amazing. Wish a fellow detectorist would've discovered it instead of an archey though :laughing7:

Thats were I left that thing........I was playing slots next thing ya know..........

that coin would buy me a deluxe RV and many acres of land with a nice log cabin on it.. dreams do come true.

Looks like an Oktadrachm of Cleopatra I or one of the Arsinoes. Personally one of my favourite ancient coins, although not TERRIBLY expensive. They can be had for 10,000 on a good day at a big coin auction.

http://www.vcoins.com/ancient/vilmar/store/viewItem.asp?idProduct=81 ---- A similar coin of Arsinoe II for sale.... Really beautiful. We had a few come through the coin store where I work, but my pockets weren't quite deep enough.

What a chunk of metal. Wonder how the politics will play on this find due to location. Really good shape. Thanks for sharing the link.

I want one......

Always like gold. Anyway it comes. The bigger the better.
