.22 Rimfire

I found this over the weekend.

It's US stamped. This is from United States Cartridge Company out of Lowell, MA. Founded in 1869. It was sold in 1918 to National Lead Company and in 1926 continued under the Winchester name. The Lowell plant closed in 1927. It was founded by General Franklin Butler, who served in the Union Army.

I'll head out back to the site, weather permitting. Winter storm rolling in.

So my guess is it's from between 1869 and 1926.
