Buddy was able to sell, and keep it in the family

Wow, I would love to snipe that! :)

If he doesnt mind, how much did he sell it for?

@ the current price of gold $1764.00 at 100 percent karats worth $38,808 present, and i thought nuggets were worth 2X to 3X their value, @ 3X your looking at
$116,424 dont know the purity just used 100%. Good for you, and dont give it away!

I know several offers were turned away. This is a great example of the figures Johhny posted......Generally specimens like this "ask" double to triple spot.....until it comes time to buy....he wanted $36,000,and closest offer was $22,000....mind you this was before gold was over $1000 an ounce.Thats why I always say,"Saying something is WORTH so,and so,and getting it are two different things. Some of the Heavy Hitter collectors were contacted too. They"Collectors",are aprehensive of buying specimen gold when the price is so unstable....just good common sense

I dont know what he ended up with, but am glad it stayed close

I woulda put that in my fish tank in my living room, then I could snipe it with my fish net everyday! :P

A nugget that big dredging? That would give me a frickin' heart attack right there! Even if it did fall out of a bucket. . . .

That's the find of a lifetime and it's the kind of thing puts the happy in mining.

All the best,

Lanny

all i have to say is WOW!!

Awesome find for your friend Kuger, one of those is on my wish list.:flag_yellow:

mine too i want one!!!lol

Great looking nugget! Here is another one that was found dredging, in the Feather River. About 1-ounce shy of Two-pounds of gold, it is the "Wilcox Nugget." Articles and Information - A tribute to Will I met Will, in Stanton, Arizona, back in 2010, and got to talk gold with him. Great thread Kuger!

Well thanks Terry, great story and awesome nugget!!I have seen some good pieces under the water and know how much bigger they look than they are....I remember my first 1.5 oz'r,it was in a crevice and all the sand sucked out and there it was laying with thre or four thumbnail sized pieces,it looked like one and I was sure it was 10oz!!!!!

It's great to know people are still finding huge specimens.
