# 21 Spanish silver 1/2 reale found in a woods site. Looks like made into a button 1781 on 12/9 2010 . Had an hour after work so i thought i would try a site Ive been doing very well at. About 4 inches deep and didn't sound like silver on minelab, so happily surprised.

I remember seeing this coin on DVRR. I was wondering if it had a shank at one time, so I guess it does!

Sweet find. Its really your 21st Spanish silver??? That's incredible. :o

Yes I saw this coin after you put it on DVRR. I have it set up to auto notify me of website updates. Neil is trying to set something up this Saturday I think. I can't wait to get back to swinging!

That's cool, and is a modified authentic Spanish silver coin unlike the vast majority of Spanish pillar buttons that were intended to be buttons, and were not silver. (many were cufflinks which could be the case for yours too - so there could be another 1,2, or 3, close)

. . . great find . . . I also agree with Iron Patch.

Mark you might be the luckiest detectorist I've met... The killer finds just seem to leap from the ground when you're out there. I still in 4 years only have a half of a half reale and I've lived in Jersey my whole life. You're here 5 years and land 21 of em lol. Meeting is Thursday and I'm looking to get out next sunday so let me know what's cookin, got a few new spots I'd like to check out.

21 ain't luck unless they're all in one hole that you dug in your front yard! ;D

Nice find Mark! You are a Reale magnet! It is unbelievable that you found these. I have been detecting the wrong side of the creek!

I think this is the one you are thinking of, Dale. Rick found it in Salem or Cumberland County.
