Dear All,

i have ordered my piglet mini high-banker, however, i have absolutely no knowledge on the ELECTRIC trash pump -
i have been reading a lot on the website BUT many post seems a bit old.
my question for my fellow prospectors, miners, dudes is:

If i want to run my mini high-banker with a 2 inches pipes, which ELECTRIC trash pump or other do you suggest me?
will appreciate all information.

i am planning similar setup than the promotional video of the piglet
I

any help guys?
:sadsmiley:

a 12v bulge pump will not work for a nozzle they don't produce pressure only volume
bulge pumps are used for water to wash when shoveling dirt.
to do any good with a nozzle you would need a gas powered pump.

thanks winner58-
maybe you can help me with the following questions -

for a 2 inches pipe setup

1) how many horse power do i need?
2) what are the specs i should have a look into?

i found this pump on the net, what do you think about it?

Tsunami Submersible Water Pump 2-inch Discharge 62 GPM Fits in an 8-inch Pipe

i know that my question are pretty stupid for experienced lads - but your help is highly appreciated as i have absolutely NO knowledge on the matter and iam ready to invest some money but only for an electric one

cheers

no, AC and water dont mix well, they make an AC pump that would fit the requirements to run a nozzle
But you would still have to have a generator and keep the wires away from water or AC can kill you...
Pacer Pumps Electric Drive Centrifugal Pump — 6600 GPH, 2in. Ports, 2 HP, 3-Phase, Model# SE2EL D2.0C | Centrifugal Pumps| Northern Tool + Equipment

I would suggest just getting a 2"inch 6.5hp clearwater or semi-trash pump
it can be ran at half throttle, and you can use for future projects

as you may understand, noise is my main issue.
do you know any gas pump producing under 60 DB ( decibels) or do you know any efficient way to reduce the noise?

Any of these gas-powered pumps or generators are going to generate noise. If noise is your enemy, then curiosity forces me to ask why? (not that it matters!)

Pumps that run on A/C will be difficult to operate unless you're working at home or very near an electrical outlet. DC pumps work great with water (little chance of giving yourself a new "hair do") but you're not going to find one pump that can provide both water volume and water pressure, and you'll need pressure for suction dredging. So, if you want to dredge, you're probably looking at a gas powered water pump. Again, if noise is an issue, I hope not because you're working in an off-limits area or trespassing or something. That said, you can always build a sound-dampening box to keep over your pump. It MUST allow for separate fresh-air-in and exhaust-out - gas engines need fresh air to run. But a box with a sound-absorbing lining will greatly reduce any noise coming from your pump.

Low tone mufflers are available for briggs and Honda to meet new sound standards mandated by many states and quiet things down real good-John

hey, yes indeed , noise is my Ennemy-
i am based in Taiwan and this island is beautiful and my new home -
it is always better for '''the foreigners''' to keep low profile in here - unless you want be on tv.
:tongue3::tongue3:

for what you're running this would work fine, you would only be running it at half throttle or less

as an experienced lad, do you really think that the 64db is for real?

ok ok guys -
so for the mini high banker -
does this pump may work correctly

6.5HP 2" NPT Semi Trash Gas Water Pump EPA Approval | eBay

it has a PSI of 35.5 ---- HP = 6.5 ----- gpm = 150gal/m = 9000gph --- and around 65 Db

planing to use hoses of 10 -10 -20 feet maximum

what do you think about the set up?
and should i downsize the hose at the exit? will it create more suction?
