Two-Thousand and Seventeen was a great year. It’s 11 degrees outside and snowing, so I figure what better time to make a recap post?

Here’s some of my favorites

My Spanish silver for the year (minus two I gave away). A quick note. In the center is a Ferdinand Vii counterfeit and it’s authentic counterpart. Very cool!

There’s more but I’m having difficulty with my Icloud downloads at the moment. I dug a lot of coppers but my photos aren’t downloading (the explaining the black borders from screenshots). So there it is, another year in the books.

The best part was the time I got to spend with friends: Carolina Tom and Smittyman, The (one and only) Basstards of Bramble (Bartek and EastCoastHunter), Locodigger, Treblehunter, Steve2 (who thinks Charlie’s truck is a pile of crap), BlakBart, OutdoorAdv, and Ahab8.

Cheers to 2018 and good hunts.

Steve

Hey thanks a lot Lu. I don’t know if you do recaps, but I’d sure like to see what you scrounged up this 2017. But then again it might make some people cry. Lol

I had my best year on Roman coins, not counting the hoarde find, very nice hammered silvers and some cool relics. As most of the finds go to the archies for recording i'm not able to provide group shots because they are gone for some time...
For now i'm happy to admire the year ends post from you guys! :occasion14:

Congratualtions on the fantastic 2017! :notworthy:

GL & HH in 2018

You had an Excellent Year, Steve.
I hope that 2018 is even better,, Congratulations.

Thank you. Trying to convince my wife I’m staying home to spend more time with her and not because of the weather is proving difficult. Hahaa

You DO live up to your T-net Tag "Scrappy". I will not forget you having to excavate those bolders from that cellar hole to get another fantastic NOVA! That's the price of admission for the REAL dedicated hard core down in the dirt treasure hunter. Much respect and admiration to see you get the goods after pouring out so much effort. Congrats on a very successful season and the added blessing of getting to share in so many hunts with other really cool folks here on T-net. Livin' the DREAM BUDDY!:headbang::hello2::hello::icon_salut:

Man you killed it in 2017! Handful of Reales, twin Novas, awesome coppers, but my favorite is the Capped Bust Half Dime. A Capped Bust silver is at the top of my list! Congrats!!

Holy cow....what a year! The Nova Constellatios are amazing and that Spanish silver count is very impressive. Congrats!

Very impressive coppers, and silvers. Congrats on the 2017 digging season and may your 2018 come with a grand keeper that will fuel that passion even deeper. All the best!

You rock Scrappy

Congrats on an exceptional year. What a nice set of finds you have there, and I know that’s not 10% of it. You got lots of Spanish coins. I got my first one, this year hunting with you. Plus you got the belt plate and (2) really nice Novas, I mean really nice, both sides.

I had the best time hanging out with you and the guys. Thanks a lot. That smoked chicken you made was delicious, who knew? Treasure hunting machine AND chef extraordinaire.

Here is a pic for your enjoyment, it’s titled “Beautiful Savages”.

Wishing you and your family the very best for 2018.

Geez, there's wheaties and mercs recaps like mine, then there's epic 2017 recaps like yours! Wow Steve, hell of a year man. Congrats!

It sure shows that you put in the time and effort it takes to put that much good finds on the table from just one year! Hard work pays off when you can count up all the quality finds you have found.
Look out 2018, Scrappies coming!

Aww shucks buddy, thanks for the kind words. Truth is I learned from a few real animals that made me understand I wasn’t living up to my detecting potential. My first hunt with these guys was nuts! I watched these guys dig out a hillside, sift 10 cubic yards of pit, and clear patches of forest that would normally require a bulldozer. Meanwhile I say there with my **** in my hand detecting clear patches. And guess who ended up with the best stuff - those two guys. Those are just a couple of the friends I listed and I must say I learn from them all. But I digress...

Cheers and thanks. Also, good luck back at ya! You did quite well too bud

That capped was a sweet find. Some guys like Crabstang and EastCoastHunter find a ton of them, but they’re special to me. And the Novas? What can I say. That’s a once-in-a-lifetime find that happened twice.

2017 was a great year for you and your crew.....
amazing finds, love the Spanish, nova’s, and relics....stay warm, go Pats!

Hey Steve , that was some year you had
I know you earned every coin and artifact you recovered
