I think my search strategy is definitely going to have to change. NYC population and history as well as an abundance of older parks that we are allowed to search, are some of the reasons my silver coin recoveries have been so successful in the past.
I have already contacted other local coil swingers and have joined a club. I may have to shift my focus to lakes and fresh water beaches. There are numerous residents of this town that are getting on in their years. A simple question will educate me as to where their favorite swimming hole was when they were kids.
Thank you everyone for your kind comments and good luck to you all in 2018.

Sweet bucket listers, I want some, congrats brother!

You did very well in 2017, I'm kinda jealous. It would make my year to find just one of those 1800's bucket listers.

I ended the year with 70 Silver coins. 60 coins came with me from NYC Parks. I added 10 more since moving to Port Allegheny, Pennsylvania in July.
I started the year with an 1832 Capped Bust 1/2 Dime.
That was January. In May, I recovered my very first Flying Eagle Penny. (1858)
June, started off with an 1858 "O" Seated 1/2 Dime and ended with an 1876 Seated 1/2 Dollar.
I'm very happy with the way 2017 treated me and look forward to adapting to the hunting here in Pennsylvania.

Sweet finds congrats!!

Awesome year I m bored and loving going over all these 2017 finds Awesome post
